See ya Roy.

I'm not really a fan of the new country. Though there's a couple that are ok. But in my youth, I listened to a lot of what my dad listened to. And watched his favorite show with him, many times. Hee Haw. Crazy, country variety show, with lots of music.

One of the best on there was Roy Clark. Today, Roy passed away. While I may not have been what many would refer to as a fan, no guitarist could argue his ability on the guitar. Or the banjo, or the fiddle or the mandolin. Face it. That dude was a stringed virtuoso.

I hate to see any great guitarist leave us, and Roy is no exception.

Rest in peace Roy.

We seem to be losing more great guitarists than we're replacing.

I was in my teens when I saw him in concert in Oklahoma City, He was stuck in Tulsa because of the weather, then drove to Oklahoma City and was more than an hour late...and very few people left. He received a standing ovation just for showing up under the circumstances! That man was amazing on any instrument.

Pagan
Hmmmm....I know I left that wand around here somewhere!

He was indeed a great Singer, guitar player and picker for sure. I remember watching him and Buck on Hee Haw what a great show with great memories. I bet you enjoyed the corn fields huh my friend.. lol and you know why I hope Roy will rest in peace as he is one of the country greats of all time..

Seduce the mind and see what a wonderful adventure the body will take you on..

Yeah..and he was one of those that was just as good live as he was in the studio. Lost a great talent.

I'm not much into country and have never seen the programme....it may not have been shown here. R.I.P.

Probably not...can't see Hee Haw having much of an audience in Ireland during the 60's and 70's.

It was a fun show for a fun time period.

Yeah, he was phenomenal. I can't remember which rock guitarist talked about sitting down and playing with him one time. But the rocker was amazed at how fast and clean Roy was.

Well, darn....If it weren't for bad luck, we'd have no luck at all!

Yes, I watched Hee Haw, too ..... and I don't even like country music! But I have always appreciated a great musician.

He was great on that show. Great comedian it seems too.

Yeah...for someone who didn't really listen to much of his music...I mourn the loss of the music community.
